It is hot as H-E-double hockey stick in the Las Vegas Valley which is perfect for insect activity and increased reproduction.

Certain Cockroaches are only active in the Spring and Summer like the Turkestan and the Oriental

Insects of all kinds have made it through the mild Las Vegas cold season to do the only thing they know how, to make more of each other! Different insect species need different resources in order to survive which can include water, food, and shelter preferences specific to their environment. Insects can also easily adapt to new environments and spread into nearby locations at a rapid rate, this is why certain regulatory agencies are in place in every state to monitor and control certain destructive pests from entering into the U.S through human transfer and other means.

Most pests that are introduced into Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson have been introduced years ago and have already established themselves. One insect that seems to be able to survive in almost ANY environment is the Cockroach. Cockroaches are active and reproduce ALL year long in the Las Vegas Valley. Cockroaches are one of the fastest reproducing insects in the United States and are found in EVERY state!

The main pest Cockroaches in Nevada are the American, Brown Banded, Oriental, Turkestan, Field, and worst of all the German Cockroach. Brown Banded Cockroaches are considered outside Cockroaches but can enter our homes and businesses in search of food or water. Brown Banded and American Cockroaches reproduce and are active ALL year long but are greater in numbers in the spring and summer.

Certain Cockroaches are only active in the Spring and Summer like the Turkestan and the Oriental. Turkestan and Oriental Cockroaches have just recently started to show up living, drinking, eating, and breeding with every Cockroach listed above! Turkestan Cockroaches along with every other species of Cockroach were introduced into Nevada, the Turkestan Cockroach is very large, almost golden brown, and can fly! Las Vegas has temperatures too high and little to no moisture or water source so the first drip of water or damp location can easily become a breeding ground for thousands of different insects!
